Let’s Debate! Barack Obama’s Healthcare Reform debacle aka What happens when you put Democrats in office pt.4 (Attack of the Republican Blogs)

Today on my Republican blog: Let’s Debate! The debacle of Barack Obama’s Healthcare Reform Plan aka what happens when you put democrats in office.

Once again in yet another example of the dems blaming Republicans for everything, Barack Obama has called for an “honest debate” on his train wreck of a healthcare reform plan.

“This is an issue of vital concern to every American, and I’m glad that so many are engaged, but it should also be an honest debate, not one dominated by willful misrepresentations and outright distortion, spread by the very folks who would benefit the most by keeping things exactly how they are,” Obama said in his weekly radio and internet address.

If I’m not mistaken, that sounds to me that anyone who speaks out against his idea of socialized healthcare is being dishonest. Realistically, anyone who’s studied his vague, confusing plan can easily see that there’s a few fundamental problems that exist within it.

Even Obama backtracked this week on his own plan, angering his liberal base by saying that he would be ok with a plan that lacked a government run-health care option. I thought that was the core basis of this nonsense in the first place?

“This is one idea among many to provide more competition and choice, especially in the many places around the country where just one insurer thoroughly dominates the marketplace,” Obama said. “Let me repeat: It would just be one option: those who prefer their private insurer would be under no obligation to shift to a public plan.”

Wait a minute: this sounds like the typical liberal flip flop and yet another example of democrats confusing the will of the American people for some mysterious Republican conspiracy to block their (socialist) goals.

I can tell honestly tell you that most of the people I’ve talked to who’ve attended any town hall meetings were genuinely concerned about the proposed changes to their healthcare. Yes, there were some individuals who attended meetings just to be disruptive or bring attention to whatever cause they’re trying to promote at the moment, but that was from both sides.

So this ridiculous notion that Republicans are somehow turning the public against this (socialized) healthcare plan is utterly laughable.

I think it has more to do with the fact that most Americans can see thru the cloudy haze of the democrats’ attempt to socialize healthcare in this country (among other things). It’s inefficient, limits choices and hemorrhages taxpayer money. I’m just guessing that people other than Republicans can see that.

Two weeks ago, the Post Office was called a “high risk” federal agency by the Government Accountability Office and the USPS is expected to have a loss of 7 billion dollars this year. And even Obama has said that Fed Ex and UPS offer more efficient service!

So what does this tell us? Maybe that the private sector is much more capable of running a profitable business than the government will ever be. This country was built on the hard work, innovation and determination of individuals; not on bureaucracy. Don’t believe me? When’s the last time you’ve been to the DMV? Do you really want the government running your healthcare?

Once Again…Let’s Socialize! A Liberal State of Mind pt. 2 (Attack of the Republican Blogs)

Today on my Republican blog: Once again, let’s socialize! (The current state of the Democratic Party aka the Republican version of The Best Week Ever). For a group of individuals who’ve spent the last few years campaigning (and somehow winning) on the promise of making a change in politics, it’s extraordinarily funny to see just how much in disarray the democratic party is in today. From my perspective, it looks like the only change they’re trying to affect is socialism- and they’re not even good at accomplishing that. From nationalizing banks, car manufactures, TARP, and now this health care initiative fiasco? It’s almost like democrats are trying to give us (Republicans) the country back in 2010 and 2012. That’s the exact reason that I keep saying we’ll be ready by 2011 to win in 2012. I just had a gut feeling from the beginning that if democrats got into any form of office in 2008, they would do what liberals always seem to do: find new and innovative ways to ruin America. As evidenced by Barack Obama’s national (socialized) health care plan, it’s apparent that they’re just picking up just where Hillary Clinton left off in the mid 90’s. I’m just assuming that most democrats just enjoy failing at everything they do. Think about it. Whatever city or town or municipality you happen to live in, take a second and ask yourself what ward or district or community has the most crime, the most unemployment, the lowest property values, the worst schools, ect, ect, ect. Now ask yourself this: what party does the mayor, alderman, committee members, county executive, school board members, senators, state representatives, local politicians, ect, ect, ect belong to? If you couldn’t guess- it’s the Democratic Party. It’s so perplexing to me that the very people who claim to be the party of the people (look up democracy), who claim to care about their children and their grandchildren’s future (global warming anyone?) would vote these indecisive, liberal clowns into office at all levels; year, after year, after year. To us (Republicans) it’s really of little consequence now, because we all know that each day that passes by, you’ll have more time to introduce more asinine, trite, nonsensical proposals, propositions, bills, legislation and other comedy that your party thinks will fool the American people. And guess what? Nobody’s buying it. What have we gotten so far with democratic leadership? Higher taxes, a larger government presence and an off kilter attempt at socialization. Wake up people! 2012 is ours and we’re currently organizing this very second for 2010 and 2012. WASHINGTON – Dissension within Democratic ranks over President Barack Obama’s health care initiative all but paralyzed the House Friday, typifying just how many political land mines are littering the path to enactment.
The Obama White House figured on some pushback from congressional Republicans, but leaders of his own Democratic Party struggled to get things moving. A powerful House committee chairman threatened to force a floor vote to break the impasse within Democratic ranks — a drastic step that could roil the House.
Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., said negotiations with fiscally conservative Democrats on his panel cannot continue indefinitely. But a floor vote would put fellow Democrats in an exposed position, having to cast a vote on a $544-billion upper-income tax increase that the Senate is unlikely to embrace to help pay for covering the millions of uninsured Americans.
The problems on the House side of the Capitol come a day after Senate Democratic leaders announced they would not go ahead as planned with a floor vote before Congress departs for its August recess. Senate Democrats are also divided. While some are negotiating with Republicans, others want to plow ahead on their own.
“We’re going to have to look at perhaps bypassing the (Energy and Commerce) committee because we’ve got to get moving on this legislation,” Waxman said. “I hope we don’t come to that conclusion.”
Two House panels have already passed legislation. Waxman is stymied because seven conservatives on his committee — part of a group called the Blue Dog Democrats — are sticking together.
Negotiations are continuing, but Waxman said he’s running out of patience.
“We’re not going to let them empower the Republicans to control the committee,” he said.
“This can’t be an interminable discussion,” Waxman added. He’s agreed to a study to address why Medicare rates are lower in rural areas in hopes of mollifying the Blue Dogs, many of whom represent small town constituencies. Billions of dollars are potentially at stake. Meanwhile, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said he hoped the talks would end on a positive note and the bill could proceed through Waxman’s committee.
As lawmakers continued to haggle, the White House said Obama will keep working on health care in August even if Congress goes home.
“Nobody in planning meetings decided we should just take August off,” said White House press secretary Robert Gibbs. “For a long time we planned to continue the discussion on the issues that are important, be it the economy, health care … education. That had always in many ways been priced into the scenario.”
Obama envisions legislation that would, for the first time, require all Americans to be insured. A new government insurance program would compete with private insurers, and insurance companies would be barred from excluding people with pre-existing conditions. The goals are to hold down costs and extend coverage to most of the 50 million uninsured. The price tag: $1 trillion-plus over a decade.
Obama met Friday morning at the White House with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont. Reid said Thursday that the panel will push to complete a bill before the Senate breaks Aug. 7. Baucus has been negotiating with the panel’s Republicans in hopes of producing a bipartisan bill.
Finance Committee negotiators are looking at a bill that probably won’t satisfy Democratic liberals. One of their top goals is a new government-sponsored insurance plan, and that was a centerpiece of legislation passed by the Senate’s health committee. But Finance Committee members are looking at nonprofit co-ops instead.
In the House, the Blue Dogs want more done to try to control rising medical costs.
Democratic leaders say the back-and-forth is a normal part of the legislative process, but Republicans are latching on to the disarray in delight. The Republican National Committee has taken to issuing news releases headlined “Chaos” that highlight disagreements within the Democrats’ ranks.
In a Tweeter post on Friday, Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, gave a shout-out to the Democratic dissidents: “bludogs keep barkin.” Grassley is Baucus’ counterpart in the Senate health care negotiations.

Let’s Socialize! A Liberal State of Mind (Attack of the Republican Blogs)

Today on my Republican blog: Let’s socialize! As I’ve been watching this NBC special on Barack Obama, I came to realize one thing: Liberals truly don’t own dictionaries. I know I’ve said it before, but that was just speculation and my own personal opinion. Now I know this to be factual. Don’t believe me? To all of my democrat friends (Republicans already know this) allow me to give you the definition of the word socialism. Does any of this sound familiar?

Once again people…Lets Take A Ride! (Standard and Poor’s drops the hammer on GM and Chrysler) Attack of the Republican Blogs

Today on my Republican blog: Let’s take a ride. Today, I heard a very interesting story on the news this afternoon. It seems that even after being bailed out by the government (with taxpayer money); General Motors and Chrysler had several of their ratings cut by credit ratings agency Standard & Poor’s. Apparently, they have their own predictions about both companies’ future performances in the automotive market and the prospect of their future plans to file for bankruptcy. They also took it a step further, stating that creditors for both companies can expect to take losses if and when they both default. Nice. Chrysler, who’s expected to merge with Italian automaker Fiat, is purportedly expected to be the worse of the two automakers. S&P analyst Gregory Maddock recently said “We believe that if they (Chrysler) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, many of its assets and operations would be sold in discrete transactions over time, while other segments may be closed”. Nice. Now, let’s talk about General Motors a little bit. GM faces a government imposed deadline of June 1st to get concessions from its stakeholders, unions and other sources. Today is April 10th people! Unless we get a miracle this Easter; I don’t see that happening. Chrysler’s deadline is even tighter, being due on May 1st, to seal the deal with Fiat. The S&P doesn’t have much faith in them either; noted by the prediction that Chrysler will be filing for bankruptcy by “the end of April or thereafter”. Once again…nice. As anyone who owns any stock in those companies can attest too: the last thing you want to hear is that your shares have been downgraded to “junk bond” status (Charter Communications anyone?). But to all my investors: hold out hope. It’s always darkest before the dawn. Be patient and invest smart; we’ve all seen what Citigroup has done in the past three weeks. When it’s cold outside: Mr. Burris goes to Washington pt.2

Today on my Republican blog: Sorry for the long delay since my last post, but I’ve been kind of busy lately. I’ve been focusing on writing for other peoples’ blogs- while neglecting my own. But that’s over for now. Today, I’ve taken to purchasing lottery tickets and making plans to visit all four casinos in the metro St. Louis area later on tonight. I’m guessing that if Roland Burris could be seated in the Senate yesterday; luck must be in the air. For those that don’t know, yesterday Mr. Burris took his place as Barack Obama’s successor in the Senate thursday, giving the Democrats a 58 to 41 majority in the Senate. His first vote was expected to be on releasing the second half of the $700 billion financial bailout funds to President-Elect Obama when he takes office. While laughable, this appointment by the “Teflon Don” Rod Blagojevich poses a serious problem for all citizens. Since we already know that Burris’s campaign contributions to Gov. Blagojevich may have led to almost $300,000 in state contracts for his consulting company; I wonder how special interests, lobbyists and other groups will affect his votes in Washington. Will he put the peoples needs first or his bank account? We’ll soon see. You Dems are making it way to easy for us in 2012. 10. Hillary’s 1996 Trip to Bosnia » During her unsuccessful bid to become Democratic presidential nominee, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) made a point of describing a rather harrowing encounter at an airport in the Bosnian city of Tuzla in 1996. She described a scene involving “sniper fire” in the war-torn region and claimed she had to duck as she ran to an awaiting vehicle. Videos taken during Clinton’s landing showed an otherwise peaceful setting. The former first lady was forced to admit to a “mistake” in memory.

9. Rangel Hounded by Ethics Questions » Rep. Charles B. Rangel, the New York Democratic congressman who heads the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, has been at the center of a swirl of questions since July, including a questionable gift from an oil executive to his charitable foundation, the use of office stationary to solicit contributions and the below-market-rate rentals of apartments in New York and Washington.

I have to give that some serious thought. Yes, I may give up the chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, give up the seat I’ve had for 38 years, and say woe, woe, woe, woe, how could this happen to me.

8. Palin’s Family Feud » When Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin became the GOP vice-presidential candidate, her political record came under intense scrutiny, including the most controversial point during her gubernatorial term — the dismissal of the state’s police commissioner. Palin had fired Walt Monegan after unsuccessfully pushing the state’s top cop to fire her ex-brother-in-law, a state trooper. “Troopergate” became a hot-button campaign issue and two independent reports released around Election Day didn’t agree on whether Palin had erred in firing Monegan.

(My thoughts) “went to my ex-brother-in-law, the trooper, who threatened to kill my dad yet was not even reprimanded by his bosses and still to this day carries a gun, of course.

7. AIG Goes to California » The subprime mortgage mess was encapsulated by the quick fall of American International Group Inc., the giant insurance firm, which got $124 billion from the government in October as it teetered. Lavish trips for senior managers after the bailout, including a $400,000 weeklong excursion to the St. Regis resort in Orange County, Calif., didn’t help matters.

The Mayor and the Text Messages » Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is spending four months in a county jail after he was convicted of lying under oath to hide an affair with his chief of staff. He pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice Sept. 4 as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors. The Detroit Free Press had obtained dozens of sometimes-racy text messages between Kilpatrick and Christine Beatty, which showed the extent of the relationship.

5. ‘Uncle Ted’ Indicted, Convicted, Loses Seat » Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens was charged with accepting illegal gifts from a wealthy oil executive and was convicted of seven felonies in a federal trial in October. He vowed to fight the conviction and hold onto his seat, but the Republican icon lost re-election.

The worst that can happen to us is we run up a bunch of legal fees, and might lose and we might have to pay a fine, might have to serve some time in jail. I hope to Christ it never gets to that…I don’t think we have done anything wrong.

4. Edwards and His Mistress » Former presidential candidate John Edwards, once a North Carolina Democratic senator, found himself in hot water after the National Enquirer revealed he had an extramarital affair with a campaign videographer. Edwards admitted the affair in a nationally-televised interview with ABC but denied he was the father of Rielle Hunter’s child. The baby’s birth certificate was noticeably missing the name of a father.

3. Spitzer and the Hooker » New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, once a shining star in the Democratic Party, was forced to resign in March after federal investigators discovered he hired an expensive escort during a trip to Washington. The former state attorney general saw his career go up in smoke, although he ended up not facing any criminal charges.

2. Tapping The Governor’s Phone » An FBI wiretap in late November and early December caught Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich allegedly trying to sell President-elect Barack Obama’s soon-to-be-vacant Senate seat for future jobs, lobbying connections for his wife and even his own Cabinet position. The fallout is still being felt. Blagojevich has been charged but refuses to resign.

I’ve got this thing and it’s (expletive) golden, and, uh, uh, I’m just not giving it up for (expletive) nothing. I’m not gonna do it. And, and I can always use it. I can parachute me there.

1. Madoff’s Ponzi Scheme » New York financier Bernard L. Madoff came under investigation in December after his two sons, both business partners, told federal authorities that their father admitted to running possibly the largest Ponzi scheme in American history. Investors are still coming forward but Madoff has estimated that investors lost $50 billion.

Auto Industry Bailout? What The F***? pt.2

Today on my Republican Blog: What world is this? As I reflect on all of my holiday expenses (gifts, travel, New Years parties, etc.), I couldn’t help but wonder when MY bailout check was going to come. Anyone who has read my blog post on the auto industry bailouts should know what I’m getting at! Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson has apparently not read my blog; thus, I’ve yet to be contacted about my bailout. But I can tell you whom he did contact: GMAC Financial Services… to the tune of 6 billion dollars! 5 billion directly to GMAC; and another billion for GM to reinvest. So now we have a combined 17.4 billion that’s been given to people who have proven that they can’t do their job correctly. See, I’ve already proven that I can do my job correctly (as evidenced by my Christmas bonus) and yet; still no free money. Where are the rewards for all of us who are actually good at what we do? I still have college loans to pay! All I’m asking for is about $100,000; that pales in comparison to a million; let alone a billion dollars. So now, when the big three come back to the Treasury Department two months from now and ask for more money; then what? This is insanity. So once again, to all of my Republican bloggers: blog away. To all of my Libertarian Bloggers: blog away. To all of my Democratic Bloggers: stop being Democrats and walk towards the light! Let’s get back on track. GOP in 2012! My New Years Resolution? Remain Resolute!

Today on my Republican blog: I’ve made my list of new years resolutions and I could only focus on one: remain resolute. I know we had a bad year, but the silver lining is that we can now regroup and prepare for 2012. So to my fellow Republicans, on 12/31/08 at 11:59pm… get ready to go! 2009 is the year we start rebuilding and focus on making a real change in our local, state and federal government for the next election cycle. I’m certain the Democrats (as proven) will make a myriad of mistakes, bad decisions and outright scandal in the next 2 to 4 years – so we should be ready to attack on all fronts. So once again, I hope that you’ve all had a merry Christmas; I hope you enjoy your new years eve; but remember: Jan 1st is go time! So get on your Republican blogs, your Libertarian blogs, your Democratic blogs (prepare your rebuttals), and lets get ready for 2012!

Auto Industry Bailout? What the F***?

Today on my Republican Blog: Earlier today, while watching CSPAN2’s coverage of Pres. Bush’s news conference about the auto industry rescue package, it suddenly hit me: I’m going about my job all wrong. While I come in early, stay late and work from home on weekends with the goal of increasing revenue; I’ve been wasting all of this time being great at my job- when I could’ve made more money by being terrible at it. Why should I spend all of my day trying to gain new accounts, babysitting my existing accounts (yeah, most buyers do act like 5 yr. olds), going to meetings about nothing and flying to the most boring cities (Springfield, IL anyone?) weekly? I should just sit in my office and check my fantasy football league stats all day, take 2 hour lunches, expense everything I can and only show up when it works for me. I was off today, but after seeing that nonsense I immediately called my division manager and told him that I’m going to require a lincoln towncar with a driver to take me to and from work on monday; and every day thereafter. If the CEO’s of General Motors and Chrysler can get a 13.4 billion dollar christmas gift for doing a terrible job, while also bringing their companies to the brink of bankruptcy- I at least deserve a chauffer for making my company money in 2008. So to Bob Nardelli and Rick Wagoner: I wish I were you. To Henry Paulson: bail me out. And to all of you out there reading this: get on your Republican Blogs, your Libertarian Blogs, your Democratic Blogs (I know ya’ll read me too) and contact your local elected officials on their respective websites and blogs and let them know how you feel.
