A Taxing Situation (Attack of the Republican Blogs)

Today on your home for young Republicans: When is enough enough? It seems to me that the current Illinois Democratic leadership seems to be dedicated to taxing everything within reach. We started off this year with the Rod Blagojevich (and he was right) impeachment, the Roland Burris appointment and more tax increases than anyone could imagine. Now we hear that the Illinois General Assembly will try to raise taxes yet again on the most common of things. So it’s not enough to raise taxes on beer, wine, cigarettes and candy? Now you Dems are raising taxes on things as mundane as haircuts and legal fees? Where does it end? Your $11 billion budget deficit is in no way related to small business, big business or average citizens. It’s directly related to a culture of corruption, nepotism and backdoor deals that has permeated Illinois politics for decades. When Blago first said that he was being forced out for his refusal to raise taxes I was a bit skeptical; but as I’ve said before, everything he (Blagojevich) said came to fruition. As soon as he was ousted, the taxes for all Illinois residents went haywire. Anyone even considering voting for any Democrat in Illinois in 2010 and 2012 needs to do a serious reality check or seek the help of a qualified therapist. While I normally don’t support any Democrats, I have to say again that Rod Blagojevich was very correct in his assessment of why he was being ousted and what would happen when he’s out of office. Pat Quinn came in and did everything Blago said he (Quinn) would do. So unless you’re planning on waiting to see what else these Dems are going to tax (water, air, sunshine, rainbows, clouds, flowers, butterflies) in 2010 and 2012, I suggest you vote Republican. You’ve had almost a year of this Democratic buffoonery on the local, state and federal level and what has it gained you? What will it gain you? Take a second away from your myspace, facebook and classmates.com sites and google the people running for office in the state, city or community that you live in. Get involved in politics!
